800 Hungry People Were Fed From Oscars’ Leftover Food And The Credit Goes To Freida Pinto

Oscar is one of the most famed events in the world. Movie lovers from all over eagerly wait for the event to see their favorite films win across various categories. Being one of the most famous events of the year, the arrangements for the event are very lavish and grand.

A grand lavish meal is organized every year after the Oscars ceremony and if you believe that like every year, this year too huge quantities of food was wasted, you’re mistaken. A very big Thanks to Freida Pinto and her effort that the leftover food from the Oscars didn’t go waste but was used to feed a number of hungry people.Oscars' Leftover FoodAccording to a Mashable report, Freida Pinto had tied up with San Francisco-based non-profit organization Copia and they together made it possible to distribute the excess food from the Oscars party to various Los Angeles communities in need of food.

Freida Pinto later took to the help of social media to post about this wonderful initiate and explained how the initiative fed more than 800 hungry people with the leftover food from the Oscars.
Potatoes with caviar, braised short ribs, chicken pot pie, Oscar-shaped matzo crackers with smoked salmon, gold-dusted popcorn and many other things were included in the menu. A lavish meal that is being prepared for the last twenty-three years by Wolfgang Puck, from the Governor’s Ball after party was also used as a donation to feed hundreds of people.

Oscars' Leftover FoodFreida Pinto explained how the “no food waste” initiative was one of the main perks of being an Academy member while speaking to Vanity Fair in February.  According to the reports, she quoted

“Our aim is to ensure that no one goes hungry in our film and TV town of Los Angeles by recovering leftover foods from all of our big parties and events.”
