Many times we tend to skip breakfast because we are in a hurry or we just started working out and thought it would help cut out a meal to lose weight. It is not an ideal decision since skipping breakfast lead to making you less productive and lethargic!

By skipping the first meal of the day, there is a thirty percent chance of one becoming prone to having a heart attack. It also leads to hypertension that subsequently leads to chronic cardiovascular diseases. It increases risk factors and raises blood pressure. Skipping breakfast also uses up the good cholesterol, keeping you on the edge of a fractured artery.
2. INTRODUCES DIABETES TO THE BODY
Missing your morning meal may lead you to experience type-2 diabetes. An experiment at Harvard researched women who skipped breakfast. They displayed how there is a 54% chance of developing type-2 diabetes if you skip breakfast. Not having your morning cereal increases insulin resistance in the body and disturbs sugar levels.
3. MAY LEAD TO CANCER
Since you will be hungrier, you will end up eating the wrong things at odd times which will lead to obesity. As studies have shown, obesity often tends to increase the risk of cancer in the body.
4. IT MAY RESULT IN CREATING LOVE HANDLES YOU DON’T WANT
Skipping breakfast can lead to gaining weight. It will increase hunger levels in the body. Research has shown that those who eat breakfast daily have a more toned body than those who do not. It is because eating breakfast increases your metabolism which leads to quicker fat burning in the body.
5. IT CAN LEAD TO LETHARGY AND MAKES YOU ‘HANGRY.’
Apart from being angry on an empty stomach, it can also make you lazy. Without breakfast, the body’s sugar levels decline, and the stored glucose is used leading to fatigue due to lack of energy. It has also been noticed that those who consume breakfast have a higher cognitive functioning and grasping capacity than those who do not.
6. HAIR LOSS
The very dreaded bald patches will meet you sooner than you want them to if you do not eat breakfast every day. Lower levels of keratin and closed hair follicles will stunt hair growth, and the lack of protein in the body will lead to hair loss and balding.
7. IT WILL MAKE YOUR HANGOVER MORE MISERABLE
After a night of heavy drinking, if you skip your morning meal, the body will not get the required iron, folate, vitamins, and minerals that it has lost. It will lower sugar levels in the body worsening your hangover.
It indeed turns to becoming an ‘eat or die’ situation. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for a reason, and we are never mad about food anyway. Feast well, and feast on time for a healthy and longer life.
